In 1999 NASA sent a probe to the planet Mars that cost 125 million. Unfortunately, the numbers for control were sent in Imperial units, the probe could only read in Metric. By the time NASA figured it out and tried to correct the errors. It was too late; the probe did a maximum impact landing on Mars. By the way, the name of the probe was "Mars Climate Orbital Probe". All politics aside. this does give you a new meaning to "climate change".A very interesting read
