5W-30 as way oil?

I wish you lived closer, I have 20+ gallons of way oil in the basement, I’d give you some.

it never ceases to amaze me, someone will spend hard earned money on a piece of equipment, then won’t want to use the correct oil, specified by the manufacturer.
My lathe is 73 yrs old, and I use what was spec'd in the manual..........

I was in charge of a maintenance department are a plant that made aircraft parts, my budget would not permit me buying oil based on brand name but fortunately there is a company in Cleveland Ohio that supplied all the different oils I required. I went into their plant and talked with their engineer and so my oils blended.....90% came from the same base stock! Then what is called an additive package was blended in I believe they are currently 65.00 a five gallon bucket.
You can spend lots of money for a brand name I did for a while or you can learn that commercial oils are produced to the same specifications as I had proven to me by lab results.
I am in the business of keeping machine tools running efficiently at cost effective prices.
