The manual says that the filter elements should be changed yearly.

It also says to replace the fluid that often too, though not sure I can afford that, lol! Mine probably have 20 hrs and 18 months on them.

I quite agree! !5 gallons of oil is pretty pricey.

No worries thank you so much for trying! I think benmychree settled my suspicions were wrong, and I can confirm it easy enough now they they should be "out" filters (since I can run it and watch oil come out!).

I was about 95% sure I didn't get them mixed up the 1st time, but wanted to be sure.

My series one does not have the door on the left side, but instead has a panel on the right rear side, and the oil bump is actually in the sump submerged with the motor suspended on springs behind the front panel.
