I kind of thought he might be on the Autistic spectrum... very high functioning.

That is exactly what I thought as well but instead of saying so, I made a prediction of him being a "quiet type" because my own biases and internal conflicts got in the way of making an objective observation of him. I'm glad you said it so that I can just simply agree; much less messy for me.
