Automatic transmission

first off what does hesitation mean
lots of transmissions overhauled because of engine issues
 
the engine is idling or coming to an idle like stopping, then when i release the brake but not accelerating it pulses to go forward and it moves. if i am going highway it shifts ok. I have not tried it with load as mostly i use it as daily driver when my brother gets the subaru.

not being there and relying on some one's description only it sounds to me like an engine issue
done lots of trans over the years. never saw one pulsate
