Bench grinder 3400 RPM vs 1700 for lathe bits

It's just a simple tool that will only used on occasion. No need to over think it or build it. The bearing are free enough to find the heavy spot in the wheel, it rocks back and forth for a bit before it settles on the same spot each time. I might just mark the heavy spot on the wheel and dial in the counter weights I plan to make for the grinder by a bit of trial and error. Just knowing where the wheel is heavy will really help on the trial and error on the grinder. Also, the bearing are very forgiving - does not need to be level and any movement in the wood will not make much of a difference.
