Too bad they broke the base.

To me it looks like they cut through the legs between the machine and the base, possibly to make it easier to move as two parts.....but yeah, that may have destroyed any value it could have had!

I think that is two separate castings that bolt together. The fact that they are not bolted together might mean whatever broke that cast iron base pan (a fall, perhaps?) probably sheared those two bolts as well. If I lived nearby and really wanted a time and money sink I would offer 100 or so for it. I don't live nearby and already have a yard/shop full of time/money sinks, so I'll leave it to someone else.

Looks like an automatic screw machine, has a holder for the cams in the base, worst job I ever had, doing second operation on the parts churned out by three of those things, 10,000 of these and 10,000 of that, I sure glad I escaped that place.

Well, I guess then I'd have a good reason to learn how to make cams. Wouldn't be the first machine I've bought and then had to learn how to use!
