Is the motor mechanically loaded yet? The more load, the higher the current the motor will draw. It might be fine to overload the control for a while but then (possibly) pffffft and release of the magic smoke. Looks like the power supply 12V output is good for 4 Amps.

You definitely need to install the reversing switch detween the speed control and the motor. The power to the speed control cannot be reversed.

Thanks, wired the switch between the speed control and motor and it work great in both directions.
