Removing work from ER collets.
Alright, I tried my first trial with collets, just some simple drill test into some aluminum roundbar. That worked ok...
Now here is my problem-- I unscrewed the collet cap of my chuck, but the roundbar is still tight inside the collet and won't budge.
I guess my next move is to take a screwdriver and hammer it on the crease section to wedge the ER-collet itself from its collet-chuck.
My question, is if this is normal? Did I over-tighten? I am working with aluminum stock so maybe that also is part of the issue?
Is there a safer way to remove stock material an ER collet wont release?
