It just so happened to be 1" because thats what was already burnt out and sold as scrap. I will turn it down to somewhere between 5/8 and 3/4 the original is somewhere in that range. Also do any of you not have a stop knob to the left side? Mine doesnt and the ram can come SLAMMMING down if not careful.

Not sure if its original but maybe thats why the previous owner had thumb screws on the front gib. I like my machines to be as close to stock as is reasonable, but ill add stuff if it doesnt damage anything.
