Fixing an uneven repaired cross slide

The welding was poorly done.

I dont know lol. I kind of feel like it is helping old that broken piece. It looks like maybe it was crashed and it ripped the tee bolt up breaking the castings

Looks to me that the compound broke into 2 pieces. That screw was added to bolt the two pieces together while welding. Then it was left in place.

I would just fly cut the whole thing, screw and all. Hopefully the weld material does not present a large surface area. As said earlier, you don't have to go all the way down to a flat circle. 80-90% would probably be fine.

Yes the weld was poor. I plan on fly cutting the screw also.
