Worth the extra money, or just another unnecessary specialized tool?

Seems like it’s dealers choice. I made one. I threw it away eventually. I imagine a professionally manufactured one is much better. But I didn’t find it any more useful or efficient.

I ended up with a brand new front brake disc from a Honda Accord. I checked it for warpage and parallelism, with excellent results. I just put it on the table, hold it down with one step clamp, and sweep near the outside edge of the surface. No T-slots to bounce over!

I'm also a fan of the Edge Tech. tool (actually, I'm a fan of a lot of their tools). Before getting one I swept with a two-faced indicator. With the edge tool you never have to take your hands and wrench off the adjustment, you can just watch what's going on and adjust until it's done.

I built a big flycutter from a 3/4" disk of steel. 6" diameter. The last step was to turn the face of it true.
Chuck it up without a cutter. Loosen the head bolts. Bring it flat to the table.
