Neat little files

I politely disagree: although the tang is rectangular, it would be easier to control with a handle; the tang is only about 1-1/2" long if the cutting length is 3". Rifflers have a small head and long handle, and are typically double-ended:

Needle files can be used without a separate handle, but work much better with a handle.
Yeah, I have dozens of them.

They are specialized for some task, but I would refer to any specialized curved file as a riffler or die sinking file.

I’m thinking these are for saw sharpening.

Check the Vallorbe catalog for a suitable handle :cocksure: On page 67 there is a useful chart to determine the correct handle size based on the file length and tang shape.

You better look again....... they don't give any dimensions or any real clue how this particular file would be held.
