Need help spending $10k on a lathe

As interesting as these suggestions are I feel compelled to point out that the OP is buying this for a company and stated that used is not an option for them. That narrows the choices down a lot, unfortunately for us but fewer choices might make buying decision easier.

Correct, used is not an option due to the bureaucratic machine saying so and its just not worth my time fighting with them on it.

As for uses, there is no specific uses other than making general parts for fixturing and test equipment. The machine will see a variety of materials from mild steel, to aluminum, to copper. It wont be used for anything super precise, just general parts. If it can hold +/- 0.003" that will be fine.

I'm not familiar with Eisen, Ill have a closer look at them. So far the PM 1340GT looks to be the best option. I can get the machine, stand, a 4 jaw chuck, and some basic tooling for ~$10k. Not crazy about the lead time tho.
