Need Help With Rotary Table

MOD is Module Pitch aka Metric gears
What is the size of one tooth of gear I try get if is a DP or MOD gear and size

Dave

Dave, thanks
from the measurements I tried to put in the sketch, the tooth size is:
Depth = .20
Height = 1.425
Width at top of tooth = .175
Width between teeth at bottom of tooth = .115
By math (circumference / 90 (number of teeth), the width is .30

If I need an additional measurement, please let me know and I will get it.

I forgot I also need the od of the gear and number of teeth too
I will have some of info tomorrow
Dave

Dave, again thanks for your help.
The gear is concave, the small (inner most) dia is 8.685"
the large dia is 8.875"
number of teeth is 90

the worm is 3.376259 TPI or (7.523 mm pitch)
3.375 TPI will work to cut the worm or if you using metric is (7.5 mm pitch)
Most large lathe have this pitch and smaller can be gear
It looks like it is 25 deg angle for grinding the cutter

Dave

It was a type-o 29 deg / 14.5 deg
Can not edit after I saw

Working to hard
Dave

Ken and Dave, thanks
Still trying to put it all together in my mind......let me "walk on my ignorance" ....... Is the 3.375 TPI the pitch? If so is it the DP?
Dave you listed 29 degree / 14.5 degree?? Obviously the 14.5 is half the 29 but .........?
Is the 29 degree the lead angle or the pressure angle....?

doug

Try that angle for grinding the tool bit just like a acme thread

Good luck
Dave
