I still have my Toshiba carousel player and 2 Dual turntables. Neither one are used much but still do from time to time. A ditched all the vcr stuff years ago as dvd and Blu-ray took over.

You might want to crack your CD player open and look for broken/deteriorated belts. The electronics should outlast us - it's the mechanics that give all the problems.
I found a 200 disc Sony changer that only had deteriorated belts (three of them). Cost me less than $8 to repair the thing. It now sits with the rest of my stereo equipment!!
the Pioneer has an electrical issue, l can see the disc spinning, it will not read the disc. The tech said it was a laser issue, basically it’s unfixable as no replacement part are available.
