I have 1 of those, it shot pretty good so I replaced the buttstock, adding the 1" spacer, (now it has the correct length of pull), installed a Timney trigger, and a free float aluminum handguard. It shoots 1" with a Leupold 3-9 scope.

That does suck though when you have to put $600.00 plus more into it though.

That happens to me a lot. "Shoots nice. Hmmm, it would be even better if I...."

Obviously you like the SKS and AK variants but (I can't believe I'm asking this) what's the reason for so many of each? Different makes, just good buys, or what?
