Not milling flat

I solved most of the problems.

Uuuuuu, I adjusted the gibs on all of the mill.

I had never done this when I got the mill.

I guess I never give it any thought.

Oh well, live and learn.

What is the difference between "tightening" the gibs and "adjusting" the gibs?
 
I would answer that by saying, you want to find a balance between too tight and too loose.
 
adjusting the gibs to me is taking the slack out and still moving well.
Like the gibs on a lathe.
