I broke the Dorian cut-off blade holder, and bought the newer insert type. Works great!! but, what i read about cut-off tool geometry fixed every problem to date. The inserts are made with a U-shape to the top surface. When you cut-off, the chip expands from the heat, and when your deep into the cut, the chips bind up. After reading this, i ground the same U shaped relief into the blades on the other tool posts in the shop. They all cut smooth as silk. Unbelievable - try it:)
