Pratt & Whitney Model C 12x30 lathe

@Meglomachinist Awesome score man! Looking forward to your build thread. Looks like we have the same vintage model C. I have a few more pics than what I've posted so if you want to see anything else before you tear into it just let me know. I'm almost ready to open up the apron so I'll make sure to take more detail pics. I'll hopefully have an update on it this weekend. My mill just needs the vfd programmed and tested and then I'll be working on just the lathe. Congrats!

Finally got a free day to work on the lathe. First chance in over a month. Anyway got a few more carriage parts painted, pulled the carriage and apron cover and cleaned the apron sump out. Everything looks really good in there. I'm pretty hopeful I can get away with just a clean and inspect on it. I'll be glad to have this whole assembly done as it's been very tedious work. After this there's only the motor reassembly/install, the main oil pump and filter, and wiring.

Just one comment on removing my apron cover, the shafts that come through the apron cover are all interference fit and it took alot of finesse to get it off without damaging anything. I used a brass punch to tap the ends of the shafts once I got some preload on the cover around the perimeter with several flat head screw drivers. Probably took a good half hour to slowly walk it off a 1/16" at a time. Only bozo I made was missing a set screw on the threading dial but thankfully the set screw dog point snapped off cleanly and nothing was damaged. I did check if it had one but it was completely covered up with paint and gunk and I missed it. Got lucky on that one.
