Precision ground flat stones

You would need two stones to keep them flat. The precision ground stones are sold in pairs. You rub them lightly against each other to freshen and clean the stones. You'd be surprised how cruddy they are at first contact but after one rub they glide over each other almost without friction.
 
Technically you would need 3, but 2 will be good for a while.
