Only direct mount chucks have this insignia. I don't think Rohm makes a direct mount screw on chuck.

That's interesting. I have three Rohm chucks with D1-5 back plates. None of them has that marking on them. I have seen a very similar marking on another chuck that was a screw-on chuck. Can't remember the brand, but I'm thinking it was an older Cushman or Skinner chuck.

Are those bolts by chance left hand thread ?
