Trailer build project, need advice..

Bob, that's a very good point. Luckily I have a young guy in mind who is a welder by trade. (although he doesn't know this yet! ha)
For curiosity I measured the original factory axle location, and it was right on to what Jake said. Half of the bed length plus as many inches as it is long in feet..
