What are they

Suzuki, if you are referring to the knurled knob (right side of picture) that moves the horizontal shaft, there is a knob on the other side of the unit that controls the vertical movement.
 
Ok then it could just as well be a crankshaft grinder steady. Usually the knobs aren't knurled but some kind plastic and are bothe inline. Well the one's I am use to work with.
 
I would be interested in the steady. How much would you ask for it?
