What do you think of this Birmingham machine

If it is Taiwan made, it should be a decent lathe and the price is reasonable. The next step is condition and tooling

Here are the tools that come with it:
The owner was a machinist all his life, I was told - these tools look like they have little use on them.

Buy it before someone else does. Doesn't mean you can't talk him down some in price. Looks to have little use, just check for signs of any damage, and make sure it operates in all modes. Kind of a machinery desert here in CO, but things do come up from time to time. Mike

Hmmm, where’s matthewsx? That looks like the same make he had for a while.

Ps. Don't get too hung up on the name.
many of the very same machines roll out of the same factories with different badges on them
avoid the old mainland China garbage

the price is a little high, but it looks to be in excellent shape
i have 2, 1236 lathes imported from Taiwan- they are excellent machines
Here is an identical machine for about twice as much. I didn't give it another look when searching as it was outside of my price range. But they are the same exact model number.
