Work Light

Painful. The Dewalts are $10. Hey, do you have an old tool that fits the batteries? You could cut the bottom off and use it as the adapter. I did that with a broken Dewalt drill.

Nope, all mine are still going strong:)

Maybe this is an excuse to learn 3D printing....

These things are too bright on 20v! Thinking about a voltage regulator.

Try them on a car battery or 12 volt adapter. They still put out a hellish amount of light. :)

Interesting. I wonder how fast they drain the battery down before a recharge is needed.

A 20v 4 Ah battery is 80 what hours , so a 10w led should go for 8h minus the efficiency loss of the driver circuit

That is an epic torch life :)

the "buck boost" regulators can be had very cheaply on ebay and are quite efficient.
Yes- I have one. Already tested and it works great. My light will have 2 settings. Power save and Ludicrous. By my calculations the power save mode should last 80 hours!
BTW- the smaller lights I am using would make great tool lights. I may mount one on my drill press.

On the low setting, I have adjusted this to draw 50mA. You can do the math with a 4 AH battery. 4/.05=infinity hours.
