2015 POTD Thread Archive

I made a storage rack for R8 accessories for my Bridgeport clone mill. I probably made it bigger than it had to be, but I might modify it to hold a few wrenches, etc. I used a 3/8" aluminum plate, 1" holes bored with a hollow core bit. For mounting to the mill, I used the two lower threaded holes for the head nod adjustment (about 1/2" of thread was exposed) The hubs that I bolted to the mill were a scrap yard find. They are bored 1" diameter, about 1.5" deep. I inserted 1" rod into these bores and welded on .375" x 1.5" steel supports. 10/32 Bolts through the plate are threaded into the .375 edge of the steel supports. The assembly is easily removed if it would happen to be in the way for an operation.

This looks like a real handy tool. As soon as I get some time think I'll have to build one. Good job.

Looks just right to me. Great job!

Been busy with work and home, but I finished up my brother's key fob on Aug 31st, for his birthday on Sept 1st. He loved it. The piston top is dished, used a scrap of small shafting for the wrist pin, loctite to secure it, and a good turtle paste waxing. I tried to avoid anything that could snag in a pocket.
