An Update On Mexican Made Nicholson Files

I have had some decent results sharpening files with muriatic (hydrochloric) acid. I suspend the file in a vertical tube with the concentrated acid overnight. I wash the files afterwards and coat them with a light oil to prevent rusting. The acid etches the file surface rather uniformly leaving a sharp corner where the file was rounded. It also cleans the file in the process.
