The speed on the unit needs to be set at it's maximum. The speed change plate close to the top of the upper belt housing.

The chain from the speed change drum should be like this or have it's pivot point on the drum slightly left as you look at it.

The other end of the speed change plate has to be connected with a cotter key and a Hardened washer to the end of the plate adjusting screw.

Connect the chain to the speed change plate like this using the t-bolt and the cotter key. Be sure and bend at least one leg out on the cotter key.

The speed change assembly is attached to the upper belt housing using two socket head screws. The fins go towards the Bridgeport lettering.

Time to install the handle. On mine I just had to tighten the set screw...directly over the flat spot on the shaft.

After cleaned it was easy to push the hub back into the bearing plate by hand. I also lightly sanded it with 600 grit paper then lightly oiled it.

The speed change hub on mine seemed tight. I removed it and cleaned it up nicely. I pressed it out. Put the nut on first so you can press on it.

Slide the worm gear on to the shaft. Line up the drilled holes in the shaft with the ones on the gear. :)
