Remove this set screw on the bottom side of the housing. This screw holds the brake operating finger pivot stud.

Drive the brake pivot stud through the housing and the brake fingers like this. You can leave the snap ring on the end.
The stud gets removed by driving it through the housing with a punch and a hammer. (remove set screw first!)

This is the end of the brake lever pivot stud...
You may have to twist back and forth the get this sucker out. I also had to file burs off of mine to put it back.
Pull the brake shaft out with a pair of vise grips.
