What Did You Buy Today?

I didn't buy these today, they have been in my air tool drawer since my dad set them aside for me in the late '70s. I have combed garage sales and auction lots hoping to find the parts for them, but I never thought to look any harder than that. Well, I bought a pair of retainer springs and some chisel bits at el Freighto del Harboro for under twennybux, and dang if they don't work a treat.
I have a couple of those IR impacts Identical to yours . Still working but I have no use at home for them . All total , maybe 30 or so air tools . I've made up attachments for all my impacts to drive stuck die heaters out of the manifolds . Saved my arms from hours of hammering . :encourage:

I really like using the ER40 setup on my lathe. I leave it installed and only remove it if I have to do something larger. After the larger job is done, I put the ER40 back. If you have to do a shorter piece, just use a cutoff of the identical diameter to fill the remainder of the collet. Save for the tiniest pieces, this works pretty well.

I really need to make an ER spindle adapter to fit my spindle nose. I’ve got Morse taper ER collet chucks that fit my lathe, but it would be nice to hold longer stock and have less stick out.

I tend to use 3C and Morse taper collets for both reasons. I also wish my spindle was big enough for 5C!

Hadn’t thought of that, I’ll have to give it a try, thanks!

Bought a DF-1247G, comes with 3-jaw, 4-jaw faceplate, steady and follow rests.
Need to make a new counter shaft bracket as the old one broke when the previous owner tried to press out the bearing the wrong direction.
Maybe there’s a member here with a bracket they don’t need :)

"The World's Longest Yard Sale" was this weekend...

Me and the wife spent all day today hitting yard sales between Fort Payne, Alabama and Gadsden, Alabama.

We saw a lot of junk, a lot of overpriced stuff, and a lot of overpriced junk.

I came home with a few things that I just couldn't live without.

A set of roll-around steps...

A 50 ft x 12ga. Extension cord...

A roll of brass shim stock...

An interesting, light duty, probably chinesium vise...

And... I had been telling the wife that I was going to buy an anvil when I found one for $50 or less... well...

It was "$50 or less"... not much of an anvil, I'm sure, but I'm not a blacksmith, either.

The vise is interesting because the rear jaw is the moveable jaw instead of the front jaw.

Congratulations, if it's like mine they are fairly stout, belt drive, right?

Might be able to repair the bracket, otherwise could fab something up to work. If you go 3 phase power you might not even need a countershaft.

Must have been a great deal since you didn't say what you paid, don't know for sure but I suspect that

:you suck:

Does $300 increase the suck factor? :D
