POTD- PROJECT OF THE DAY: What Did You Make In Your Shop Today?

I'm going to bet that flat surface is no longer that clean. In my shop, horizontal surfaces have exceedingly high gravitational pull.

First attempt at salt water etching. That was easy. Will play some more to see how to control depth. This came out nice (this is before 1200 grit wet dry) I am considering making some control panels and using this method with paint inlay. So I'll have to go deeper. Can be great for marking tools too. But I don't need to do that anymore. Brother ptouch transfer tape, salt water (home made) and a battery charger, although I think I can use a computer power supply that I have.

Not doing much as I've moved to south Carolina and my family is still in Texas, but I did fix a bike light I made many years ago. It stopped charging and it turned out one of the prongs inside the socket was broken.

I was going to replace the board itself but that looked a little more complicated than I thought due to a spacer glued to the back of it. Instead I replaced the broken socket. Thankfully my cameras macro function doesn't let you see the ugly soldering job :)IMG20230902192501.jpgIMG20230902193729.jpg
