Oh Mark please tell me that this is just a joke. While the end results look awesome, as a clock maker I am not too impressed. When I repair people's old clocks I often have to make replacement hands that were missing. At least now I think I know why. :) I am going to try and find your wife's email and let her know.

Just kidding of course, you did what you had to do, and now I may have a job in the future to replace a hand.

Happy New Year.

No.... not a joke. She can only tell time with a digital clock. She will never know that hand is missing.

You all have a happy new year also.

I also popped the blade off my saw while cutting some stock today and used my home made tension gauge to put it back on. IT REALLY WORKS!!!

Mark, I did a cursory search and didn't find any info about your tension gage. (but I am computer illiterate...) Have you written this up as a project?

Thanks
Darrell

Thanks Mark. I see one in my future.

I started taking apart and painting a trashed Atlas 618 countershaft assembly to use on my 6" Craftsman to buy a little bench space and get some rotating parts out of harms' way. The motor pulleys had been replaced with a pair of random cast iron 1/2" pulleys and the spindle shaft was quite scored. I might end up transplanting the entire Craftsman M6-21A assembly on to the Atlas bracket.

I added on to my shop to make more room. I am moving my lathe, mill, and plasma table to the new area and use the old area for fabrication.

The blue back splash is part of the outer ring from an above ground swimming pool. Got rid of the static phase converter and went with VFD in the base. I made the light bracket from flat, square and two "clogs" cut on the plasma table.

Got the mill half way to it's new home. I am only lifting it just enough so I can slide it along. I forget how much it weighs but I think it was 3500lbs. (10 x 54)

I finaly got my carriage stop made.
It has 3 functions.

There is a adjustable bolt present to stop the carriage.

Second I can mount my dial indicator wich I made with a regulator so i'm able to set it to zero.

Third I can mount it at the other side of my carriage and hook up my caliper.
This caliper has a travel of 800 mm.

Didn't have a handle for the mill vise. It's got a 3/8" shank, so I welded together two old sockets I had...

Made and installed a replacement muzzle brake on a 375 Winchester 14" contender barrel. The brake itself is made from forged 4140 steel ( heavy truck air brake camshaft ) Then blackened with Caswells black oxide kit. The flash really seems to cut thru the black oxide as it is much nicer in person! The end of the BBL. is threaded 11/16-24 tpi ( not out of convenience ) it left me extra "meat" on the outside chance something went south!!! An were forced to re cut and thread to the next smaller size. Please escuse the dog hair that appear as a scratch or two! And to answer the next question, it isn't as heavy and bulky as it appears! Now I just wish it wasn't 40 below 0 with the wind today! I would like to get out and fire it a few times to see how it works! Happy new year all!
