I got a section of railroad track from a friend and cut off a section for a small anvil. I will be sprucing it up a bit and have to figure out a decent stand for it. It took a couple of hours to cut off the section on my HF 4x6, but it sure beat using a hacksaw!

Please elucidate. Why? Maybe I need to do that and haven't realized it yet?
Assuming the thinner is commonly supplied in some container (not "bring your own"), what are the advantages of using the MAPP cylinder?
Small orifice would be more time consuming to refill. My standard "as furnished" containers seem to hold up well.
"Just because" is an acceptable reason but not . . .

Thought I'd try being a cooper. The staves are sawed inside and outside to get the curve rather than bent.

The jig I used on the bandsaw to get a 48 inch radius.

Now to make bands. Thinking maybe the steel banding for lumber piles but silver older the joint rather than the normal crimp on joiner.

I made one of them there oil cans. Seems like everyone else has made one so figured I'd make one too.

I've been working on some fanned up grinder stands. I made them from salvaged materials, semi brake drums, 1/4" wall 5" square tube. Had all the materials sandblasted, a friend welded them up for me because he's a better welder and I know when to step aside, lol. I got them done and in my basement just in time before I had surgery for an umbilical hernia. This is what they looked like.
All welded up, 1/4" plate for the top.

I cleaned all the welding bb boogers off and wire wheeled them before painting. I had a friend flip them over so I could paint the bottoms. I'm not allowed to lift anything for another 2 weeks.
Primed with rustoleum.

1 coat of rustoleum grey, good enough for the bottom.

Same friend helped me flip them again. Primed. I figured I would do my baldor tool grinder stand while I was at it.

1 coat of grey on the top side today. 1 more coat hopefully tomorrow. I think 2 of the stands I'm going to set up with quick change tops so I can mount different grinders as needed. So far my only expense on these has been the paint.

I picked up a dozen 20" old plow disks at a farm sale and plan to do the same thing with them.

It snowed again here yesterday and today. I'm getting tired of this. The heater in my shop only raises the temperature about 10-15 degrees Fahrenheit. So yesterday I updated the inventory of my shop that I did last year and reconciled it with all the receipts I had on file for the last couple of years.
