A quick little project. Found this old desk lamp at the dump. Should have taken a before shot, the cast iron base and neck was rusted badly, and the shade had a couple of dents. Quick go in the sand blast cabinet and a quick powder coat job.

Impressive flathead!! Rigid frame, jockey shift and a springer!! I've not rode a jockey shift in years. Would like to see a photo of it loaded with the surfboard too. Seemed I always had the saddlebags full of tools, extra parts, oil, and... duct tape, lol. I used to ride a '46 FLH Knuckle, hard tail. Wish I'd never sold it. Oh, I remember now - back surgery, lol.

Today i had a quick project to do, welding and on the lathe. Started with the pipe and flange i welded about a week ago, mounted it in my lathe tool couple of cuts and found couple of low spots so i took it back in the big garage and welded them up chucked it in my lathe and finished cleaning that side, then i flipped it and cut off the end and face cut it then i cut couple of chamfers and that side was done, last thing i did was to cut couple of barbs for the hose to attach and finally i parted it, this part is for the 607 i'm fixing up.

Pretty impressive with this whole "weld then machine to perfection" concept. I need to think about that more often when designing.

Steel 3D printer, i'm fortunate my lathe has so much power and is sturdy enough that it does not care on interrupted cut and weld. I tried this on a friends lathe that is a smaller machine and it started walking on me from the interrupted cut. I tried a deeper cut and it stopped broke the insert trying back off the tool. To cutting mig welds on a lathe can be tricky for a hobby machine.

Oil change day, couple of my cars needed it some because of time some at mileage, never the less they all got fresh oil and filters i usually don't show this because i do it often but this time i had my phone handy so i took few pictures.

I got to check off an item from the to do list today. It's a new guide for the sliding doors of our coat closet, it gets used many times per day.
Here I am, well on my way to finishing this simple part (carefully finding the center of the part in with an edgefinder).

This is my part right after I realized that I had to crank the handle for the Y axis millions of times instead of using the powerfeed on the X axis.
Notice the crooked parallel (this ain't a NASA project).

Corners chamfered, holes drilled and countersunk, touched up with the belt sander, and lightly buffed.

This one is not going to break.
All installed, just in time to put the feed bag on.

Back in 2012 I had my 2010 Road King converted to trike using a type approved kit, with all the work done by a registered bike mechanic. we still had to get an engineers report and putover the Veh's dep't pits for full examination, to get it registered.
