Bolt vs hex cap screw

What is it if you use two wrenches, tightening with both?

If you hold the wrench on the head and move the wrench on the nut, it is a screw.
If you hold the wrench on the nut and move the wrench on the head it is a bolt.

If you move both wrenches at the same time we will have to call it a thingamabob.

Just call 'em all fasteners. Anything else is just details ...

I throw my socket head cap screws and hex head bolts in the same bin, sorted by diameter
I do about the same ... All head styles sorted by diameter( and as required,coarse/fine thread), but also by length (as shown in the photo). kHPIM5503.jpg

A screw is threaded to the underside of the head and a bolt has a plain portion.

If you hold the wrench on the head and move the wrench on the nut, it is a screw.
If you hold the wrench on the nut and move the wrench on the head it is a bolt.

I think you're 180° out here. LOL
