I’d probably give a repair a try first and be prepared to replace.

If you bugger it up, you’re no further ahead or behind.

I’d be tempted to try brazing instead of tig in a spot where “flatness” is so important.

You could drill and tap a hole through the center of the crack and install a set screw. Should be a pretty solid repair, just peen the threads to lock it in there.

Had a bolt come out of a valve on the compressor. Cracked the valve plate. Valve plate not available from Harbor Freight. Any ideas ? Tig weld the plate and machine the warp out. Make a new plate from a piece of aluminum plate. Replace the compressor with a whole new compressor? I know it’s Harbor freight, but surprisingly it has lasted from 2014.

I just purchased a set of Cast Iron Piston Rings from Aliexpress. Awaiting arrival, I wonder if you searched there if anything might come up for you? I will try to utilize them to repair my Saylor Beall Compressor.
