just tried A11=10 and A12=60 from 0. No joy, put them back to default.

tried A003 =30 no joy. put it back to 60

tried A061=60 no joy. put it back to 0.0

Did you buy these as new or used VFD's, in addition some are preprogrammed for a particular use and the parameters may be specific to that use. This is often the case for NOS/used VFD's sold off of eBay. I would recommend contacting Hitachi Technical support, I do not have any more suggestions but if the run command comes on then it sounds like the speed or motor parameters might be set incorrectly.

Make sure the speed pot is connected correctly, the terminal at the back of the speed pot is the variable sweep = O, the middle terminal is the 0V reference = L, the terminal near the shaft is the +10V = H.

I see you had a second VFD, and both are doing the same thing. I can't see how you have it wired from your photos.
mksj has given consistent great tech information.

And go through each step in succession?
Follow the procedure exactly, and if you still can't get it to run, you have a wiring error in your speed pot and FWD/REV switch.

Life got in the way so I am back to this after a long recess

Installed a speed pot and a forward/reverse pot per manual. See pic


Set A001 =00 from 01 . Run from console turns on run light at 0 HZ. no motor run


Check voltage at "O" got up to +6V. NOTE I used a 5K pot, manual suggests 2K.


set A002=01 from 02


Both F and R switch bring in Run light but 0 Hz.


Set B37 to 00 from 04


Set B31 to 10 from 01


Now can read C01 is 00 => made no change


c02 is 01 => made no change





OK frustrated enough for now. what should i do next?

Take a photo with the wires stretched out so someone can see a wiring error should there be one.

SO you have your logic connected as sink type PLC connected to L, making inputs 1 to 7 logic true/ON when connected to L.

So I copied in the pertinent parts of the manual in case someone else looks at your wiring photo and figures out what may be wrong.

This is the eighth machine I've attempted to install a VFD over the last 20 years. always a bit of a struggle with the programming but never had one that would not turn a motor with the defaults out of the box. I have double and triple checked the simple wiring - It is correct.

One eBay unit was used, the other NIB. Both perform the same. If you look at the pics, I ground on the cooling fins to install, so i will not try to return them.

Time is money for me. Especially when its beat your head on the wall time. So, i will go through MKJS list one last time. Then I will order a Tico like MKJS told me to on the bandsaw I did last summer

Best 110 VFD

I ordered a new saw last december. https://www.rollinsaw.com/ef1459 It was $2000 cheaper to get one with a 1 hp 3 phase motor vs 110 single phase. Saw just arrived, so i need a VFD to run it. Where should i go for a real nice one? PS first time I have EVER bought a brand new large machine...

i have both a carbide grinder and a deckle single flute grinder to get going at my winter digs. This was supposed to be a weekend job, turned into a long fruitless struggle.

I had set A001=0 POT on operator. Misunderstood this to mean Potentiometer.
Changed it to A001= 01 and all is well in my world.

See my post #10, I changed it from 01 to 00 when attaching the pot. So, i missed a step should have tried both 00 and 01 here
