Practice CAD model and rendering

Great work! I'm a Fusion guy - but could not agree more that modeling from drawings or from an actual object is one of the best ways to learn any CAD program. Grab a tool or fixture from your shop and model it. I modeled my pattern makers vise because I needed to figure out clearances when mounting it to my bench (yes overkill).

Yesterday, I modeled my fireplace and screen. It's an odd opening and the screen is 5" short. I want to build a fender to raise the screen up. Again, overkill - but it allowed me to try out a bunch of ideas and see what sort of stuff I had to consider and also get a sense of the aesthetics.

I've got a bunch of old books with beautiful drawings (I often collect the books just for the drawings!) I'll have to take a look for something to model in them.

That is simply outstanding Ken!

Thanks.

Alibre's assembly environment still hasn't included cam type constraints, so i can't animate the valves. But most everything else works. I tried to hide just enough to allow for inner workings to be visible.
