Post a picture please. I have a cheap microscope I use in the shop to read numbers on dies. Its pretty pitiful. I probably need to upgrade.

I dunno about a "toolmakers microscope" but I have a microscope on my electronics bench for surface mount rework.

However, it turns out that the number one use is actually sliver removal.
.....and if I had to buy it again just for that I would!

I looked some up and they look kinda pricey. Wonder what makes it a toolmakers microscope? Is that a term like tactical or vintage or precision?

probably that it doesn't do pass through lighting, that the light is reflective.
Also it probably has an x-y table, and reticle to measure.
maybe a rotating reticle..

Has an X-Y table, 1 adjuster is removed.
Has a light mounted on the side.

Besides watches... I can see being useful for soldering small circuit boards...
