Everyone seems concerned about Slim’s weight. He looks about right for his body composition. More concerning is his color. Maybe some time out of the shop and some sun might help. A little vitamin D might even make him a better shop mate and improve his mood.

Either way the two of you are making very good progress.

I'm in steam bending of billets for the hull frames/ribs should be done with that in about 3 or 4 days,, have been doing a few little metal bits as a side diversion, plus with all the upcoming scale woodwork decided some Lee Valley scale woodworking tools would be good to add.. had a good amount of hard maple from lab cabinets that was saved from a dumpster,, so a 1/3 scale benchtop workbench is in the works..

bought a 3 drawer unit that dropped right in place to finish the workbench.. most of the steam bent frame billets are ready for cutting, decided that some scale wood chisels would help with all the scale woodwork upcoming.. forged them from cement nails (they are good high carbon steel that holds a nice edge) 1/8"th, 3/16"ths and 1/4", joiner and swan neck,, collars added, oil quenched ready for final honing and handles...

a big cup of coffee, the cute little veritas honing guide,, diamond plates and oil,, we now have wicked sharp little chisels with the correct blade angles..

completed the set today,, enough of making tools time to get back to the boat

spent most of the day turning steam-bent billets into ribs/frames,, still have the floor timbers to complete before this hull gets framed up..

one more steam-bent billet, 3 floor timbers to go and maybe this 5ft hull can start getting framed up!!! been spending a lot of time with this trio!!!
