I have absolutely no idea what the pink collars are. I kept the round bar for lathe stock. I hope that doesn't offend
someone.

The "pink collars" are linear bearings. They have some sort of PTFE liner. The round bars should be linear bearing rails. They may be case hardened, so not easy to machine.
