What Did You Buy Today?

I also ordered some specialty bicycle tools made in Tsubame-Sanjo, Japan…

…and some swell track hub axle nuts for my bikemomoney

Two Halon fire extinguishers, $10 ea.

May go back for a co2 extinguisher too, but they’re big.

Exchanged the dead one today, he left a charged ABC outside his gate. May still go back for a CO2, but probably the halon and ABC are fine. If I have to use it whatever cleanup there is will be better than the alternative.

Bought these on ebay b4 Christmas. Only 2 the short 2 have the proper angle to pull material down in the vise. The other 2 are not really angled. I'll have to grind them. I thought they were, or I would probably not have bought them.
Anyway, I thought I would try coke as a derusting on one, while doing the others with elbow grease. It did clean it up a little, but I wound up having to give it elbow grease because it wasn't so much rusty, as stained from previous rust or oil.

This one long one heads to coca cola for about 3 hours..

After cleaning the top 3 with elbow grease, and the bottom came out of coke.

I really need to stay out of the box stores. Went in to get some garden hose ends for maintenance job, and walked out with several clearance sale items.

Going to give each of my kids one of these tool sets. They are not necessarily mechanical inclined like me, but at least they will have something for me to use when I visit.

Did well at our favorite pawn shop.

The wife did better at the pain of the wallet, but she deserves it.

Among the many items was a set of 3 dial calipers.

One chinese, a Brown and Sharpe and an interesting Fowler.

The Fowler has 2 needles. One is SAE, and the other is Metric!

Both are missing the cross bar at the bottom and we need to do some cleanup.

The back dial does not follow the bezel ring turn, Need to get that fixed.

This one is going on the clock bench.

Also picked up this light. Was marked down to $15 from $20 reg. Thought it might be good for mill. Almost tempted to go pick up a couple more. Or maybe talk to manager to see if he can do better to make all of them go bye bye.

so you took away the frying pan from the wife so she can't hit you... but it's not a cast iron pan, does it really hurt that bad?
