What job did you do today in your shop?

I have owned this very economical import Shars R8 fly cutter for over a year, & I used it for the first time today. I used an import insert in an import tool holder. It worked very nicely on mild steel!

First day back . Today's project is to get the 14" x 60" Republic shoe horned into the garage . I need to get the Kubota up to NY next week and need the trailer freed up . More fly by night rigging coming up ! :encourage:

Curious as to just what you are making there.

That is just a 1” plate welding coupon. It happens to have been used once before. It will be practice welded again, cut/machined again, & then recycled many times.

So we moved 3 lathes and the mill along with other garage remnents but she is in and the trailer is empty . Looks kinda lathe alley at the moment . The trailer is needed to demolish a 32 foot camper up on the property next week if all gos well . Last large job of the season before selling time .

Resurfacing clutch plates from a 102 Cub Cadet that I inherited this summer.
It had set out in the elements for Lord knows how long.
Going to wind up in a 124 I am resurrecting from the dead.
Once I figured out how to indicate them in the chuck, all went well.
